Percussion carbine action

This is a close-up of the action of a .5 inch percussion Black Powder carbine with a set trigger, even though at first glance it looks like an underlever cartridge gun. The idea of a set trigger is that the trigger mechanism is 'set' by pulling on the (heavy) rear trigger and fired by the light forward trigger. A carbine is defined as being either a shortened version of a rifle used originally by mounted troops, or by a rifle type gun firing a pistol calibre cartridge.
