25 yard .22 Standing Rifle
target
(used in NSRA
competitions)
This target has five shots fired at
each aiming mark from the
standing position. Standing shooting is perhaps the hardest
discipline to master as it is the most unstable. Many newcomers are put off by the
apparently large degree of wobble that they see when they first try it. A good indication
of just how unstable is given by this target, 5 shots are fired per aiming mark when
standing, 2 when kneeling and only 1 when prone. The fact that 5 shots are taken at each
aiming mark is a good pointer that unlike prone shooting they normally do not all go into
the same hole and thus make scoring difficult.
This target is supplied by the
NSRA and is used for shooting competitions
within the UK to International rules
